Separate flat-top hood with built-in tie mask and two pairs of ties.
Description
Hood and mask in one piece shorten gowning and avoid gaps between hood and mask edge.
The hood covers head, hair, neck and shoulders. Hair and scalp are among the strongest particle sources on a person, which is why the hood is mandatory in aseptic areas. Separate hoods are worn under the coverall's mandarin collar; the shoulder yoke prevents an open gap at the neck.
Shape and elastic determine how well mask and goggles seat. A straight forehead edge with flat side panels lets the goggles seal, and the elastic in the chin area keeps the hood closed without pressing on the forehead. Hoods with an integrated mask combine both parts.
The integrated mask is tied with two pairs of ties; hood shape and shoulder yoke match the hood without mask, with pattern and dimensions approved separately on the sample.
Features
- Flat-top hood with straight forehead edge
- Integrated tie mask with bendable nose strip
- Elastic in the chin area, long shoulder yoke
- Aseptically folded
Typical applications
- Aseptic areas with a separate mandarin-collar coverall
- Combination with a frock in ante-rooms and laboratories
- Operations that change hood and coverall separately
- Areas with goggles where the forehead should stay flat
What to consider when choosing
- With or without mask: The mask hood saves a step; the separate mask allows a change without the hood.
- Delivery condition: Sterile, individually packed for GMP A/B; non-sterile, 20 per bag for controlled areas.
- Fit: The shoulder yoke must fit under the coverall collar; combinations within the line are matched.

Standards framework
Standards and regulations the series is to be tested and marked against. Conformity will be demonstrated with the release of the series.
- PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, Category III (planned)
- EN ISO 13982-1 (Type 5) / EN 13034 (Type 6) or PB [6]
- EN 14325 (material tests)
- IEST-RP-CC003 (particle shedding, Helmke drum)
Notes on use
Hoods are single-use products. Put on the hood first, then close the mandarin-collar coverall over it so the shoulder yoke is covered. With an integrated mask, shape the nose strip and tie the ties behind the head.
Frequently asked questions
Does the hood fit every coverall?
The hoods of this line are matched to the line's mandarin-collar coveralls. With other makes, check the collar height on a sample.
Why a straight forehead edge?
It keeps the forehead free of folds so that goggles seal and no hair escapes.
